AREVA CHALLENGE GOES TO PARIS

Paris, France - 2006-06-09

This weekend, the ‘32nd America’s Cup on Tour’ will make its first stop at the Place de la Bastille in Paris. Members of AREVA Challenge will be there to meet the public, answer questions, and sign autographs.

Better than a revolution, it is the America’s Cup Class Yacht that will take a seat in the Bastille this weekend. The yacht, which is on display, will greet visitors and leave them with a lasting impression about the size of these match racers. In addition, those who dare, will have a chance to test their force on the ‘Grinder Test’, or take part in a mini regatta of remote control boats where all twelve teams are represented. Also ‘on tour’ is a visual exhibition that will give the public a chance to learn about the history of the America’s Cup through images and videos.

Four members of AREVA Challenge will be at the Place de la Bastille on Saturday, beginning at 17h00. They’ll be ready to challenge on the “Grinder Test’ or sail to win in the remote control boat races. Christophe André (Grinder - FRA), Santi Casanova (Physiotherapist - ESP), Fred Lemaistre (Grinder - FRA) and Peter Merrington (Boat Captain \\ Grinder - AUS) will also be available to sign autographs and speak about their daily work on AREVA Challenge’s base in Valencia.

The rendez-vous with AREVA Challenge begins Saturday, June 10th at 17h00 at the Place de la Bastille in Paris.
